Disney CRP Countdown – 24 hours

I leave tomorrow! I am all packed up, one bag, 22.9kg. Minor crisis today in that the Virgin Atlantic online check-in has totally failed on us. After over an hour of trying they finally came up with a message that it is broken and they are trying to fix it. Luckily we have all booked seats already so hopefully once it is back up we should all be good and should all be sitting together on the plane – fingers crossed. Silly Virgin Atlantic!

During the past few days I have activated my US SIM card so I should be able to start using it as soon as we land. Which means I can tweet like crazy, if you follow Dan@Disney on Twitter you will get all my Disney-related updates between posts.

I am planning to get to the Airport for 8:30 tomorrow morning which leaves plenty of time for delays or problems. It is about a 2 hour drive from my house to Gatwick so it means a 6:30 start which is really not bad considering the early starts that will be ahead in the next few weeks.

We have all exchanged numbers and arranged a meeting point so we can find each other at the airport and then meet people on other flights once we get to Orlando. What did people do before Facebook?!

The Oscars Speech

As I get ready to leave it feels like an appropriate time to thank all the people who encouraged me to apply for the program and helped me along the way. Unlike the Oscars I am going to keep this short and sweet. I would particularly like to single out Roger Antoniazzo who was my Disney recruiter for my ICPs and has since moved on from Disney who was invaluable in helping me to realise my dream of returning to Orlando. Thanks Roger – I definitely owe you! Also I must of course thank Yummy Jobs for all their help so far – lovely people, always.

Some Blogging Rules

I decided I need to come up with some blogging rules. As much as I would love to do a daily blog I know from 2009 that it would simply not happen. My plan is to blog at least once a week although for the first few weeks during training it will probably be a bit more often. If I have not posted for a long time you have full permission to get in touch or give me a prod on Facebook.

I can’t believe it is finally time – let’s do this!
